Experience a luxurious oasis of tranquility and relaxation in the middle of the bushveld. Leopard Plains is conveniently situated on the doorstep to the famous Okavango Delta, close to Maun, and the perfect start or end for your adventure tour through Botswana by car or aeroplane (airstrip 1 km from Leopard Plains).
OUr camp is more than just a place to stay — it’s a hub for adventures and memorable experiences. A variety of activities, such as guided game drives and bush walks, are available at our Private Game Reserve, all led by expert guides who share their extensive knowledge of the local flora and fauna. A highlight of any visit to Leopard Plains is a day trip to the Nxai Pan National Park and/or the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park.
The Nxai Pan National Park is renowned for its vast, open plains and stunning salt pans, which create a unique and mesmerising landscape. During the rainy season, the pans fill with water, attracting a plethora of wildlife, including large herds of zebras, wildebeests and elephants. It’s also the only park in Botswana to have both impalas and springboks living in the same area. Visitors can also witness the awe-inspiring Baines’ Baobabs, a cluster of ancient baobab trees that stand as sentinels over the landscape. These iconic trees, named after the British explorer and artist Thomas Baines, are a photographer’s dream.
Each year, between the months of May and October, thousands of zebras embark on a journey from the Savuti flood plains to the Nxai Pan and Makgadikgadi Pans in search of fresh grazing pastures. This migration is the second-largest in Africa and provides a remarkable opportunity to observe zebra behavior and dynamics up close. Guests can join guided excursions offered by Leopard Plains to follow the migratory route, experiencing the sights and sounds of this incredible journey. Along the way, you may also encounter other wildlife such as springboks, lions, and various bird species, making for a rich and diverse safari experience.
The 7 generously proportioned tented rooms combine luxury accommodation with the feeling of being surrounded by nature. The pool area invites you to forget about the daily grind and is a perfect place to observe and appreciate the abundant wildlife surrounding the Tented Camp.
We have a great passion for wildlife, nature and sustainability, therefore our responsibility lies in sustainable development and environmental protection. Our eco-friendly Tented Camp is operated by solar power and bio friendly sewage systems This way we like to contribute to sustainable tourism. Please bear in mind that a solar power system is not able to run air-conditioning. Therefore our camp is not airconditioned!

Peace and tranquility.
Peace and tranquility - we had a wonderful stay in Leopard Plains. The staff were really helpful and always available and always smiling. Food was delicious and beautifully presented. The beds were super comfortable and everything worked well. It's close to both of the Pans and there's a wonderful guide, Kashim, who can take you on a drive and is very knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions. We hope to return one day.

Hidden gem between Maun, Makgadikgadi and Nxai
We stayed for 2 days, after having camped many days in different national parks in Botswana. It gave rest and piece, in an atmosphere of luxury and surrounded by nice people. On top of this, the food prepared by Paj was excellent.
